About DC Schools League
The DC League was first established in 2009. In its initial form, it included 56 rounds of debate held over a few months.
Currently, points on the league table are decided based on how far a team from a given institution advances in any DC endorsed tournament. If more than one team from the same school advances into the knockout rounds in the same tournament,
the points will be tallied separately and then added to make the total points gained by that school in that tournament.
The scale of the tournament is also considered in tallying points.
Furthermore, schools are able to gain a fixed number of points by hosting a tournament. At the end of the year, the total points are tallied and the top four teams debate each other on a round robin basis,
following which the top two teams face each other off in a Grand Final and the winner of the DC League is decided.
The league encourages teams to participate as well as to host more tournaments.
